What are Prolozone Injections?

Prolozone is an injection technique similar to Prolotherapy, but it uses ozone, a reactive form of oxygen that enhances the immune system. Ozone injections stimulate the release of growth factors, which help regenerate damaged joints and degenerative discs while providing cells with oxygen to promote healing. Ozone itself aids in tissue healing, reduces scar tissue, controls inflammation, and strengthens the immune system. The use of ozone can accelerate the healing process compared to traditional Prolotherapy, as it stimulates the fibroblastic repair abilities within the joint, helping the damaged tissue heal more effectively.

The response to Prolozone treatment can vary from person to person, depending on individual healing ability and the severity of the injury. Some patients may require only 1 to 2 treatments, while others might need up to 6 or 7. It may take up to 8-10 weeks to notice noticeable improvements in pain and function.

After starting treatment, your practitioner will monitor your progress and provide an updated assessment of what to expect from further sessions. The injections are typically repeated every 1-2 weeks until maximum improvement is achieved.
