Prolotherapy Davenport, IA

What is Prolotherapy?

Prolotherapy is an injection technique designed to stimulate the body’s healing response. It involves injecting a solution (typically a dextrose-based mixture) into areas of damaged joints, ligaments, or tendons. The injection triggers the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the release of growth factors and promoting tissue repair and regeneration.

Prolotherapy helps to rebuild and strengthen weakened ligaments and tendons, reducing pain and improving joint stability. By stimulating the body’s repair mechanisms, Prolotherapy can be an effective treatment for chronic pain, degenerative conditions, and injuries that haven’t responded to other therapies.

The number of treatments needed varies depending on the individual’s healing ability and the extent of the injury. Some patients may experience improvement after just 1 or 2 treatments, while others may need up to 6 or 7 treatments. It may take up to 8-10 weeks to notice significant improvements in pain relief and functionality. After the initial treatments, your practitioner will monitor your progress and provide an updated assessment of your treatment plan.
